Methodology

How ZeroTick scores and ranks companies

How It Works

ZeroTick continuously monitors global business and financial news sources. Our system processes headlines and article metadata to identify which US publicly traded companies are being most discussed and how the coverage sentiment is trending.

Each company receives a Momentum Score from 0 to 100 based on recent news activity. This score reflects news volume, sentiment direction, source credibility, and novelty of coverage.

Scoring Factors

News VolumeHow many articles mention this company in the current period
Sentiment DirectionWhether coverage is predominantly positive, negative, or neutral
Source CredibilityHigher weight given to established financial news outlets
NoveltyNew stories are weighted more than repeated/recycled coverage
Cross-Source AgreementHigher confidence when multiple independent sources report similarly
